  • Traveling in flight would take 2 hours and 44 minutes, also the nearest airport to Plains is 9 miles away which is the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport.
  • A Train trip usually takes around 2 hours and 24 minutes.

Among them the fastest and most convenient method of travel is a drive to Plains. Now let me provide you with the best route to travel to reach the Plains through a road trip. 

  • Take NY-495 W from NY-9A N and 10th Ave (takes around 18 minutes, 3.4 miles)
  • Now take NJ-3 W, I-80 W & I-476 to S River St in Township of Plains, now proceed to take the Exit 3 from PA-309 N (takes 2 hrs and 6 mins usually, 125 miles)
  • Now, take the Maffett St to E Carey St (takes 2 mins, 1 mile) 

Now, once you have reached the gorgeous township of Plains, navigating around in the regions is pretty simple. You could either hire a taxi on your own using Uber which would always be available for you. Or the best possible way is bringing your own car or renting out one, as it would be the most convenient way.

Seven Tubs Recreation Area

A 400 acre recreation area which is situated at the Plains Township and inside the Pinchot State Forest, Seven Tubs Recreation Area is a beautiful outdoor recreation site. The unique part of the area is a stream of water known as Wheelbarrow Run which flows across a ravine series of tubs and potholes which is scooped out of the bedrocks laying down. 

The visitors can enjoy the wildlife and plants of the rest of the forest along with the natural hiking trails which lead the visitors to the hilly terrains and tubs.
